Iota Lambda's Installation - February 2005

The group of women known as the Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta began over 40 years ago, in 1965, as the Sigma Sigma chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi Women's Fraternity at St. Norbert College. On September 25, 1968, the women decided to leave Alpha Omicron Pi and, from 1968 through 2004, existed at St. Norbert college as the local sorority, Alpha Sigma Chi.

In late 2003, a group of 24 women—then members of Alpha Sigma Chi—took the first in a series of steps toward colonization. After campus visits from several national sororities, the chapter felt very strongly drawn to Alpha Xi Delta for her mission and ideals.

In October of 2004, the women were officially received into the National Fraternity as the St. Norbert College Colony.  The Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta was installed on February 27, 2005 by Jane Hooper Sutton, then National President, along with other members of National Council, National Volunteers, and Alpha Xi Delta collegiates from Wisconsin.
